Learning Biblical Greek with Peter's Family
One of the main differences between starting Biblical Greek with a textbook compared to Scripturial, is the use of story characters. As you learn new vocabulary words, you begin to learn more about each of the characters. Building a mental picture of the characters in the story, allows key vocablary items to become part of this mental picture. Also, learning with characters is just more fun, especially if you are more visually minded.
Common biblical names are chosen for the characters so that we can practice biblical names. However the characters themselves are not strictly based on the historical biblical people.
Peter, Maria, David and Sarah
Peter and Maria live in a small white house in Capernaum not far from the sea of Galilee. Peter and Maria have two children, David and Sarah. They have a small collection of animals, and Peter has a boat in the nearby sea. They are mostly a loving and happy family, although they may have disagreements from time to time.
Esther and her students
Esther is the local teacher in Capernaum. David and Sarah spend part of their time going to school along with the other children in Capernaum. While at school, Esther teaches them to read and write.
Mark, Anna, Seth, and Chloe
Mark and Anna live not far from Peter and Maria. Their house is larger than Peter and Maria's house. They have two children named Seth and Chloe. Mark has a large collection of books and a small collection of animals. Mark is the local judge for the village. Mark's family don't always get along with each other.
