The top 8 Biblical Greek Question Patterns
Memorising words and practicing translating sentences is important. It is often also a solo activity. Studying alone is not always fun. One way to bring Biblical Greek alive is to practice some basic common question patterns, so that we can begin to ask each other basic questions about practice texts, and eventually start talking about Scripture using these basic sentence patterns.
It can also feel a little intimidating to find yourself in a position where you have to listen to someone speak Biblical Greek and respond with an answer. This is why the introductory units to Scripturial focus on building comfort with hearing, reading, and answering Koine Greek questions using Koine Greek.
Do you have a friend you can practice Biblical Greek with? Here is a proposed study plan:
- Make a note of each sentence pattern as you encounter in a unit. Write down several examples.
- Together or separately, practice the mini stories in that unit.
- Make a time to meet together, practice asking each other questions about the mini stories using the question patterns from that unit.
Eventually I hope to have variations of the mini stories and questions avaible here in PDF form to make it easier to practice with a friend. But don't wait, start studying with a friend today.
